| Hello, I am Lindsay Miller and my husband is Mike. We have two children, boys, they are 4 years old and 5 years old. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and have been working at veterinary clinics for 17 years. We have been raising dachshunds since 2002. I was introduced to the wonderful breed about 6 years ago by a coworker that also raises them. I was hooked from the get go and decided I wanted to be a part of raising this wonderful breed. I have 8 dachsies in all 5 females and three males, one of my males in neutered so I only have two males that I breed. They are my house babies and they love to go outside in the backyard to do their daily excavating!!! They are just all around wonderful dogs, they are great with my kids. All of my puppies are born and raised in my house, sometimes they are born at the clinic that I work! When my girls get close to their due date they go to work with me everyday and about a week before they are due I do an x-ray on them to get a count and know how many puppies to expect. They stay in a crate in my kitchen so I can check them each and every day and keep a close eye on them. I deworm them at 3 weeks old and vaccinate and worm them again at 6 weeks old and also have my boss (my veterinarian) check them over listening to their hearts, checking their bites, etc. I take pride in my breeding and do everything I can to improve the breed. I only raise longhairs because I prefer the personality of them over the shorts. The longhairs are more laid back, friendlier, and never meet a stranger. I do not mix my coats I only breed longhair to longhair. If you have any questions about any of my dogs or my breeding program please feel free to contact me and I will be glad to help.
